EXPLANATION

Angron was one of the twenty Primarchs created by the Emperor of Mankind to lead the Space Marine Legions during the Great Crusade. Before being reunited with the Imperium, Angron was enslaved on the world of Nuceria where he was forced to fight as a gladiator. During this time he received brutal cybernetic implants known as the Butcher’s Nails, which constantly drove him toward rage and violence.

When the Emperor discovered Angron, he removed him from the planet and placed him in command of the World Eaters Legion. However, Angron resented the Emperor for abandoning the gladiators who had fought beside him. During the Horus Heresy, Angron joined Horus’s rebellion against the Imperium.

After the war, Angron fully embraced Chaos and was transformed into a Daemon Prince of Khorne, becoming one of the most destructive champions of the Chaos Gods.

WHY IT MATTERS

Angron represents one of the most tragic and violent figures in Warhammer 40K lore. His fall to Chaos and transformation into a daemon exemplify how the Horus Heresy reshaped the fate of the Primarchs and the galaxy.
